Wix Website - BibiGirl Designs

https://vmon3690.wixsite.com/mysite

My goal for this website was to have fun in its ability to be interactive with the audience.

For the Logo, I used Busorama Md BT Font, then did a color range select to select all the purple letters, then gradient tool for the high/low purple effect, then used the Sponge Effect in the Filter Gallery. For "Designs" I kept it simple, purple color using the Amienne Font.

Then I wanted to have a unique background design throughout the website, so i did a blue/purple round gradient, then used a brush tool and drew soft squiggly lines on top.

The website has several components. Here is a list:
  • Logo is in the header, which is linked back into the Home Page.
  • Logo and Title on Graphics Page are animated to give additional appeal.
  • The Navigation Bar is on the Header and Footer to prevent the need to scroll back to the top of the page.
  • There are social media shares for both Twitter and Facebook located on the bottom of the page. The choice to use the footer instead of the header was completely esthetic since I wanted it to look pleasant in both website and mobile phone.
  • Each photo has Title and Description. If there was a blog created, the link is included.
  • Both the carousel in the Home Page and the Scrolling Gallery in the Graphics page are user friendly in the mobile phone.
  • The Learn More button on the About Me links to the Contact Me page. Submit Button is connected to my email address.
  • I've added a Blog page which is fully functional. I used blog information from my Blogger account to create the Blog, which can be liked and shared.
  • I thought I'd add a bit of fun with a chat button that notifies me if someone uses it.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!!!

Me and My Dad - Restoration

This was an interesting, but tedious restoration!
I used the following tools: Stamp, Patch, Smudge - and I added Color Layers for each color, inverted the masks to black, and then used the Brush tool and colored each section.

The goal was to keep the picture still have the original look (1973), but added subtle colors.
The resolution upgrade and the line across the picture was the hardest part.

Photo Retouch - Me and My Dad

I found this old photo of me and my dad when I was 4 years old. I thought it would be great to honor my father who passed away 9 years ago by restoring and colorizing the photo.  Using Patch, Stamp, Dodge and Burn tools along with creating the necessary mask layers, I'm hoping to accomplish this goal.

The Hate U Give - Book Cover

The Hate U Give, by Angie Thomas

Some of the style was influenced by Gestalt. Hooded figure was toned down to just show a shadow of the appearance underneath the summary. The main character, Starr Carver, was taken from one of the movie's photo of the lead character. Using the Torn Edges effect from Sketches in the Filter Gallery, I was able to blend both of the background colors to fill her features to create the "stamp" look I was hoping for. The colors of the letters were chosen to enhance the word "THUG" as well as using the Drop Shadow for the text layers. I've added the author's photo as well as created the actual ISBN bar code to complete the look.

The Hate U Give - Sketch

My sketch is based on the novel by Angie Thomas titled "The Hate U Give". I am planning on focusing on key colors  - Black - Red - White - Green - to have the book cover stand out. The original piece is of a young girl with a picket sign. My rendition will look a bit darker, to capture the intensity of the story line.

The book cover will have a red and black background. I want to give it a little of a Gestalt feel by having some of the items become either partially transparent or even a "stamp" look to it. The letters will spell out the word THUG which is symbolic to the story line and will have a silhouette of a gun in the picture. Hope you will enjoy the results.

TIme is Running Out!- BONUS Poster

While working on my LGBT Bullying awareness poster, another idea came to the surface. With all of the opioid awareness spreading throughout the county, I decided to create a poster for this.
Growing up, opioids are readily available and we would see how it would impact individuals, families and lives. I find it interesting that a problem that I would see as a child in the 70s are now considered an issue. I see this as a 40+ year wake-up call. Please let me know what you think about this poster.
